Department: Chassis R&D — High-Voltage Battery Installation Design
Reports to: TRIR Group Manager
Location: Rugao
Employment type: Full-time
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior High-Voltage (HV) Battery Installation Design Engineer to join our Chassis R&D team. You will own the design and development of the high-voltage battery pack brackets, hangers, and mounting structures that connect the battery system to the chassis/frame.
You will deliver robust, lightweight, and cost-effective mounting solutions for electric trucks, taking full design ownership from concept through to start of production (SOP) with quality and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
As the design owner for the HV battery bracket / mounting system, you will:
1. Own the design of HV battery pack brackets, hangers, and mounting structures — from concept, detailed design, and drawing release through to SOP — ensuring on-time delivery with good quality.
2. Lead technical solution development for the responsible bracket/mounting system to meet vehicle program milestone requirements.
3. Develop design verification (DV) and product validation (PV) plans for the responsible parts; coordinate prototype fabrication and ensure bench testing and vehicle-level testing are implemented (stiffness, modal, vibration durability, impact/crash, thermal-cycle).
4. Collaborate efficiently with functional partners from Purchasing, SQE, and Manufacturing to complete PPAP on time.
5. Lead root-cause analysis for technical issues arising in the development phase, at the manufacturing plant, and in the field. Develop and deliver corrective design solutions in time and with good quality (e.g., 8D, fault-tree analysis, 6-sigma).
6. Define and maintain technical documentation as design owner — technical specifications, DFMEA, GD&T drawings, and related release documentation.
Candidate Requirements

· Heavy-duty truck experience preferred.
· Electric-vehicle / high-voltage battery experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Fluent English (reading, writing, and speaking) for effective global collaboration.
· Solid knowledge of the DV/PV process and PPAP.
· Skilled in design software, CATIA (V5/V6), is a must.
· Strong engineering fundamentals in structural/mechanical design development for chassis frame/cross members and bracket systems.
· Skilled in GD&T for design drawing development and release.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with practical experience applying analysis tools such as 8D, 6-sigma, and fault-tree analysis.
· Understanding of high-voltage battery system fundamentals and HV-safety constraints in mechanical design.
· Supplier technical management skills.
· Good communication skills and teamwork mindset
