YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

We are seeking a strategic and inspiring Retail / Commercial Director to lead our retail business across Mainland China. Based in Shanghai, you will be responsible for driving business performance and leading a high-performing team in alignment with Maison’s creative vision and operational excellence standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Strategy & Performance

Define and execute the retail business strategy for Mainland China to achieve sales targets, profitability, and market share growth.

Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to identify opportunities for business development and brand expansion.

Manage the P&L for the region, ensuring optimal control of operational costs, inventory levels, and key retail KPI.

Client Experience & Brand desirability

Champion the Celine client experience, ensuring all stores deliver a consistent, sophisticated, and personalized experience aligned with Maison’s identity.

Collaborate with Clienteling & Loyalty team and implement client engagement strategies to foster long-term loyalty and increase desirability among tiers of clients.

Collaborate with Communication, Clienteling & Loyalty and E-Commerce teams to integrate offline and online touchpoints, creating a seamless omnichannel journey.

Operational Excellence

Ensure all retail stores adhere to global operational standards, visual merchandising guidelines and compliance requirements.

Optimize store operations and processes to enhance efficiency, agility, and responsiveness to local market dynamics.

Work closely with Supply Chain & Planning teams to ensure optimal stock allocation and inventory turnover.

LEADERSHIP & TEAM MANAGEMENT

Lead, mentor and inspire a team of Store Managers and Regional Managers, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability and creativity.

Identify and develop talents through structured coaching, training programs and succession planning.

Promote an inclusive and engaging work environment that reflects Celine’s values and encourages continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, luxury management or related field; MBA is a plus.

Minimum 12 years of experience in luxury retail, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in retail management and operations in China.

Proven track record of driving sustainable growth and operational excellence in China luxury market.

SKILLS

Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L management, budgeting, and forecasting.

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate diverse teams.

LANGUAGES

Fluent in Mandarin and English.
