Seeking an accomplished scientist and drug discovery leader with deep expertise in the cardiometabolic therapeutic area, particularly obesity, metabolic diseases, and cardiovascular risk reduction. The successful candidate will possess a strong foundation in drug discovery and translational development, with a demonstrated track record of advancing innovative therapeutic programs from target validation through clinical candidate selection.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading complex discovery programs through cross-functional internal teams and external collaborations, driving scientific strategy, execution, timelines, and critical decision-making across the development continuum. This individual will serve as a key scientific leader, integrating disease biology, therapeutic innovation, and portfolio strategy to accelerate the advancement of novel cardiometabolic therapies.
Key Qualifications
PhD, MD, or equivalent advanced scientific training in a relevant discipline.
Minimum of 8 years of industry experience, including experience within both leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.
Deep understanding of drug discovery and development principles, including target identification, validation, lead optimization, translational research, and candidate selection.
Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams and managing strategic external partnerships.
Scientific and technical expertise in next-generation therapeutic modalities, including:
siRNA and RNA-based therapeutics
Gene modulation and genetic medicine platforms
Targeted delivery technologies
Antibody-Oligonucleotide Conjugates (AOCs)
Antibody-Peptide/Payload Conjugates (APCs)
Other emerging precision medicine approaches
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence strategy across diverse scientific and business functions.
The successful candidate will combine scientific excellence, strategic vision, and operational rigor to drive the discovery and development of transformative therapies for patients with cardiometabolic diseases.
