OTA System Architecture

岗位描述/Department Mission:

As OTA System Architecture, the candidate should be a combination of hard and soft skills, including technical and communication abilities. That might mean being open to engineering supervisors looking to make the transition from sectors like manufacturing to growing areas like research and development to enable CARIAD as an in-house development culture.

主要职责/Your Responsibilities:

Design and plan the end-to-end OTA upgrade architecture for whole vehicles, covering mechanisms such as delta upgrades, A/B partitions, rollback, and failure recovery.

Architect end-to-end upgrade pipelines (package management, signature verification, resumable downloads, multi-channel delivery) to ensure security, reliability, and timeliness.

Lead the architecture design and technology selection of the OTA platform (upgrade task orchestration, canary releases, policy management, progress monitoring).

Establish anomaly governance processes (upgrade failure analysis, risk investigation, emergency rollback) to continuously improve success rates.

Drive technical breakthroughs, produce architecture documentation, and guide the team through implementation.

Lead the test specification and strategy design of OTA system and function, support test team complete test activities on time.

Coordinate with software release and campaign management team on campaign release and issue resolving.

岗位要求/Required Qualification:

Education: Major in Computer Science, Communication Technology, E/E, Automotive or relevant with bachelor’s degree or above.

Work Experience: More than 8 years’ experience in the automotive industry and at least 5 years’ experience in OTA system architecture or function solution design.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Deep understanding of delta algorithms (bsdiff, imgdiff, etc.), A/B partitions, and Recovery mechanisms; experience with automotive-grade or Android/iOS upgrade pipelines is a plus.

Familiarity with high-concurrency, distributed service architecture and vehicle-grade information security (certificate systems, signature verification, anti-rollback).

Familiarity with UDS flash and micro controller upgrade process.

Familiarity with SOC/MPU upgrade process.

Familiarity with software life-cycle management and release process.

Strong cross-team collaboration and solution-driving skills.

The candidate must know well of SW update knowledge.

Familiarity with system architecture design.

Know well in flash file format, HEX, BIN, S19, etc.

Know well about diagnostics related ISO standards, i.e. ISO 14229, ISO 15765, ISO 13400, ISO 22901, etc.

Familiarity with vehicle E/E architecture development process, especially diagnosis development process.

Familiarity with on AUTOSAR CP & AP software architecture.

The candidate must have basic English communication skills, both oral and written.
