Head of YQ-Thermal Management

Brief Description：

Full responsibility for the development, localization and release (P-, B-, BMG-, K-) of the powertrain thermal management system, complete vehicle cooling system and air conditioning / climatization system incl. all components (radiator, fan, TM-module, pumps, pipes & hoses, coolant, compressor, condenser, PTC, HVAC, AC lines, refrigerant, cooling plate, battery thermal packaging) for all brands and platform users in the China region (VW, Audi, Skoda, Jetta, JVs). Ensures driving range, thermal comfort and energy-efficient, environmentally friendly operation, while safeguarding cost competitiveness (>30% of vehicle material cost) and the "In China for China" localization strategy aligned with VW/Audi AG, VGC, Audi China and Group Components.

Tasks：

Develop thermal concepts (simulation & evaluation), design thermal management components and the air conditioning system

Develop and execute P-, B-, BMG-, K-Release in region China (VWA, SVW, FAW-VW, Jetta, VW Anhui) for local platforms from PS to SOP incl. PEP milestones

P-, B-, BMG-, K-Release for localized components of EU platforms; responsible for project success within time, quality and budget

Define and harmonize the mid-term (2026-2028) and long-term (2030+) localization and development strategy with VW/Audi AG

Key central interface for development of TM and AC parts/functions between VW/Audi AG, Volkswagen Group China, Audi China, JVs

Competitor benchmark and cost analysis on top cost-sensitive components (>30% of vehicle material cost) incl. TM-module parts, cooling and climate circuit

Task force responsibility for critical C&TM system issues in the China region; align with HQ and JVs

Supplier and technology scouting for HQ in VW/Audi AG; technical evaluation during nomination of suppliers and technical concepts

Strategic and entrepreneurial management of the department based on overall strategic and annual planning; budget and personnel planning

Authorities:

Authority of release / blocking of BMGs and release approval on thermal management system (cooling & climate) and components; final approval incl. B-/P-/BMG-/K-Release for the China region for all JVs

Definition, delegation and release of work packages; determination of targets, delegation/prioritization of tasks and capacity for the subdivisions and interface groups.

Release or blocking of BMs, DLVs, KUe in accordance with signature and budget rules.

Decision on local product optimization in terms of cost, weight and performance (FMK).

Authority of technical evaluation during nomination processes on potential suppliers and technical concepts (incl. TE-Rating).

Personnel selection and determination, assignment and prioritization of personnel deployment, including delegation of responsibilities; decision on communication of technical content to authorities/ex

Responsibilities:

Ensuring of powertrain thermal management and AC system concepts for future projects and their implementation in vehicle projects considering costs, technologies and China market situation.

Guarantee of BMG, P-, B-, K-Release for thermal management system components for all products of the VW brand and platform users in the China market (JVs, Jetta, Skoda, Audi)

Steering and monitoring of project milestones concerning timing, cost, quality and targets; harmonization of results; steering of all internal teams to assure competitiveness of the products over life
