IT Domain Architect (Greater China Ecosystem)

Your role

The Domain Architect is responsible for development and enforcement of the architecture strategy of an IT architecture domain in Greater China Ecosystem product release train. This includes defining domain specific architecture principles, target architectures and domain roadmaps in alignment with business & IT requirements. The domain architect has a holistic domain view, and provides guidance on decision-making, assesses new demands, guides Solution Architects and coordinates with Application Owners within the respective domain.

Key responsibilities in your new role

Domain IT architecture governance: Defines domain IT architecture specific principles and standards to steer the solution architectures

Architecture Artefacts Creation: Co-creates required architecture artefacts with Enterprise Architects, e.g. principles or guidelines

Target State: Defines target state in alignment with business and translates it into a domain transformation roadmap

Technology Lifecycle Management: Manages domain specific technology lifecycle in alignment with Enterprise Architects

Industry Trends Analysis: Analyze wider industry trends and best-practices to identify possible rooms for improvement

Innovation Research: Drive innovation by researching emerging technologies in the domain, performing feasibility studies, and integrating these technologies into architectural strategies

Solution Alignment: Ensures that domain solutions adhere to architecture principles and guidelines

Architecture Consistency: Accounts for cross-domain / end-to-end architecture consistency

Architecture Evaluation: Identifies solution options, evaluates them and supports solution architecture

Architecture Effectiveness: Drives architecture effectiveness from a domain end-to-end perspective with cross-layer responsibility to ensure consistency

Consultation and Guidance: Acts as an internal consultant and independent moderator in domain-specific design discussions and supports and guides Solution Architects to facilitate effective projects

Standards Compliance and Technical Debt Management: Assesses deviation from standards, recommending standard alternatives and supports technical debt identification, evaluation and management

Your profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

Bachelor degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines

Minimum 6-year experience in IT-related fields and 3+ years related to integration architecture and interface design in the Web application ecosystem.

Professional Architectural Knowledge of messaging architecture, rule-based systems, enterprise network architecture, container technology, microservices and service meshes.

Proven experience in Functional Design (e.g. Requirements Gathering, Design Synthesis, System Validation, Testing, Training & Support)

Familiar with Frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), Reference Architectures and Blueprints

Experience in cloud solution integration, Generative AI, data architecture, WeChat ecosystem and WeChat SCRM would be a plus.

Self-motivated, willing to learn, passionate in new technologies, excellent technical analytical and interpersonal communication skills.

Fluent speak in both English & Mandarin and professional written in English and Chinese languages.
