Job Overview
TE Connectivity is seeking a strategic and results-driven Procurement Category Manager to lead category sourcing strategies in Machining/Metals across our China operations. This role is responsible for driving cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and supply continuity while supporting regional and global business objectives.
You will own end-to-end category management in China while working for the global leader of this category.
Job Requirements
Category Strategy Development
Develop and execute multi-year category strategies aligned with global and regional business goals
Analyze supply markets, cost structures, and risk factors to inform sourcing decisions
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, localization, and supply base optimization
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
Lead RFQs/RFPs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations
Manage supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery, innovation)
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers in China and Asia
Cost Management & Optimization
Drive annual cost reduction targets through:
Negotiations
Resourcing and dual sourcing
Value engineering and design collaboration
Develop should-cost models and benchmarking analysis
What your background should look like
Required
College degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management
Strong experience managing suppliers within China/Asia markets
Proven track record delivering cost savings and supplier improvements
Fluent in Mandarin and English
Preferred
Experience in electronics, automotive, or industrial manufacturing
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Strong negotiation and contract management experience
Experience working in a global matrix organization
